We are in the midst of discussing some small home reno projects, and I am so excited. The baby arrives in about six months, so I am having a serious case of nesting syndrome. And the feeling of running out of time!
I have been looking at ideas and color palettes all week, so I thought I'd share some of my favorites with you. I love the idea of soothing neutrals-- bone, gray, and white all give a relaxed spa feel. But of course I'll have to add in some jazz with pops of color. Stay tuned to see finished project photos! For now, here are some dreamy ideas....
1. Relaxed gray living room
I love the light gray color of this living room and the white crown molding. The furniture looks super comfy but elegant. I think it does need a little more color; I would add more natural plants, like a fiddle fig tree, and more pops of gold to bring it to life. Perfection.
This sitting area is so beautiful and lux, but also has some modern touches. The fancy fabric on the pillows and the clear coffee table elevate the room with contemporary elegance, but the neutral sofa, glass candlesticks, and sheep skin keep it classic. Love.
I am obsessed with gallery walls. I love to paint and collect interesting pieces in my free time, so the idea of being able to hang all of my canvas and items-- like Horrace, the bull skull from Tucson AZ-- is so appealing to me. This kind of room has a natural office feel to me, so I plan to create a mesh of gallery and office functionality in the reno.
One of my priorities is to finish off the bedroom and make it look like a dreamy, cozy space. I want to keep it light and airy, and that requires light neutrals with fluffy linens and pillows. I love the bedroom in this photo, it completely invites you in for a nap!
Our bedroom has a slanted ceiling, and it creates a huge waste of space in the room. I love the idea of creating closet/storage space by building it in. The wall paper really makes the space pop. Gorgeous!
